Introducing Atmos™ Rewards – an enhanced, combined loyalty program by Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines

Summary

A first for any global airline, members can choose how they earn points and status points when they fly with us – by distance traveled, price paid or segments flown.

The #1 airline rewards program is getting even better: Atmos Rewards members enjoy industry-leading generosity with even more ways to earn and redeem points for travel adventures around the globe.

Unleash the full power of Atmos Rewards with our new premium credit card, the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® card, offering a Global Companion Award and an even faster way to earn status.

Alaska ushers in a new era of inflight connectivity with the installation of ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi, free for Atmos Rewards members beginning in 2026.

On a mission to transform global travel, Alaska Airlines launched Atmos™ Rewards today – our evolved, supercharged loyalty program that unifies the best of Mileage Plan and Hawaiian Airlines’ HawaiianMiles into a combined platform to deliver more choice, more rewards and more global access than ever before for our members.

Atmos Rewards continues the generosity that Mileage Plan has long been known for. Alaska has the #1 airline rewards program according to U.S. News & World Report. And it’s getting even better. Atmos Rewards offers new ways to earn valuable points across an extensive worldwide network spanning over 1,000 destinations, connected by the strength of Alaska, Hawaiian and more than 30 global airline partners, including the oneworld alliance. We’ve also assembled a rich collection of partners to earn points with when our members are not flying.

Atmos Rewards is the global airline program that encourages members to tailor the program to their travel style and choose what matters most to them, from flexible point-earning options to preferred perks and personalized benefits in the new Atmos Communities.

Atmos Rewards is more than a loyalty program – it’s a reflection of how guests travel today. We listened to what our members value most and built a program that’s grounded in generosity, personalization and practicality. We’re putting our members in the pilot’s seat, giving them control over how they earn and redeem, while honoring the legacy and values of both Alaska and Hawaiian.”

Andrew Harrison

Chief Commercial Officer at Alaska Airlines

Choose among three ways to earn

We’re introducing a first for a global airline that gives our members ultimate flexibility. Later in 2026, points and status points can be earned in one of three ways when flying with us. Members can select the earning option that works best for them and change their preference once a year:

  • Distance traveled: Earn based on how far you go with one point for every mile flown. For thrifty travelers who take cross-country or international trips, this might be the best choice.
  • Price paid: Earn five points for every $1 spent when purchasing a flight. This includes airfare and upgrades purchased in premium cabins. For travelers flying in our premium cabins, including our lie-flat suites, this might be the best choice.
  • Segments flown: Earn a flat 500 points for each flight segment flown. For flyers who take numerous short-distance flights, such as those between Neighbor Islands in Hawai`i or within California, this option guarantees a set number of points on every trip.
Reward yourself

We keep adding new ways for members to use their valuable points to see the world. They can redeem points for award travel to more than 1,000 destinations on Alaska, Hawaiian and 30+ global airline partners, including oneworld member airlines. Redemptions start at only 4,500 points one-way.

We’re installing Starlink across the entire Alaska fleet

Alaska and Hawaiian will add Starlink inflight connectivity to more planes, bringing the fastest Wi-Fi in the skies to even more flights. Alaska has teamed up with T-Mobile to make this new Wi-Fi service free exclusively for Atmos Rewards members. Installations on Alaska’s fleet will begin in 2026 and be completed in 2027.

More partners, more points

Atmos Rewards members can now earn 2 points for every $1 spent on everyday Lyft rides, and 3 points for every $1 spent on airport and elevated Lyft rides. Link your Atmos Rewards and Lyft accounts at alaskalyft.com to earn more points wherever you go. Later this year, we’ll add more partners to our lineup.

  • Book stays: Explore nearly a million hotels and vacation rentals worldwide where you can earn or redeem points.
  • Atmos Rewards Unlocked: Points can also be used to secure tickets to unique events and travel experiences – available only to Atmos Rewards members.
Endless earning

Points and status points are earned on flights with us and our partners, as well as through routine purchases with the Atmos Rewards Visa® credit cards and Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard® credit cards* and on purchases made with our non-airline partners. Members can also earn status points when they book award travel. Points are used for various redemptions, and status points track progress toward reaching status and milestones.

The power of our new premium card

With our new Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® card, co-branded with Bank of America, cardholders can reach status and milestones even faster by earning 1 status point for every $2 spent on purchases.

Milestones unleash perks

Rewards come earlier and more often when members reach milestones with their status points. Each milestone unlocks a choice of perks starting at just 10,000 status points.

More generous upgrades are on the way

For our Atmos Titanium members, we’ll be the only U.S. airline to offer complimentary, day-of-departure upgrades into global Business Class for them and a companion without requiring points or a certificate. Also, status holders and one companion can take advantage of complimentary upgrades on Hawaiian Airlines flights within North America beginning next spring.

With new Atmos Communities, pick a group and enjoy extra benefits

All members can choose to be part of Atmos Communities later in 2026 with exclusive benefits tailored to what interests them most. Options include groups unique to members within a specific area of residence, like our popular Huakaʻi by Hawaiian for Hawai‘i residents and Club 49 for residents of the state of Alaska (available now), or benefits aligned with interests like travel with families, wellness and more.

Atmos Rewards is designed to set a new standard for airline loyalty – more generous, more flexible and easier to use, whether members are flying across the globe or just across the Islands. With the combination of Alaska and Hawaiian, we seized a rare opportunity to imagine how we could make the most generous loyalty program even better. With industry-first features like customizable ways to earn and unique benefits tailored to how people travel, we’re giving our guests more control, more value and more reasons to engage.”

  • With Atmos Rewards, Mileage Plan miles are now ‘points’ and elite-qualifying miles are referred to as ‘status points.’
  • One Mileage Plan or HawaiianMiles mile = one Atmos Rewards point. The value of points does not change, and points do not expire. Members can continue to redeem for travel on Alaska, Hawaiian and our global partners.
  • HawaiianMiles members and all their miles will automatically transition into Atmos Rewards on Oct. 1. They will receive a new account number if they have not previously linked their HawaiianMiles account to a Mileage Plan account. We have more details for HawaiianMiles members here.
  • Alaska Airlines Visa® cards are being rebranded as Atmos Rewards Visa® cards. Account numbers and benefits remain the same. Use of the cards and benefits will continue without interruption – there’s no action for cardholders to take.
  • The Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard* continues unchanged. The card name and benefits stay the same, and cardmembers do not need to take any action.
  • We’ll remain the only U.S. airline that offers points for miles flown, but later in 2026, members will be able to choose how they earn points: by distance traveled, price paid or segments flown.
  • For members who have status with us, benefits stay the same with more on the way. Learn more about the new Atmos tier names and updates to earning status here.

The soft gradients, smoothly transitioning in color and intensity, harmoniously weave together the blue of Alaska and the purple and pink of Hawaiian. The name also cues a promise of “most” – demonstrating the 11 years of Alaska’s Mileage Plan being named the number one airline loyalty program and cueing more rewards, more destinations and more choice.

Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® card benefits

Go Global

Introducing the Global Companion Award

This new award unlocks extraordinary value when redeeming points for two. Available exclusively to Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® cardholders, the Global Companion Award covers a companion’s ticket when booking award travel for two people on the same itinerary, up to a set number of points. Cardholders can earn up to two Global Companion Awards per year for use across our full network – including Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, oneworld and our global partners – in any class of service, including Business Class and First Class.

    • 25,000-point Global Companion Award:

Earned after qualifying spend on a new account and annually after each card anniversary. Redeem it for up to 25,000 points off a companion award ticket.

    • 100,000-point Global Companion Award:

Earned by spending $60,000 or more on purchases in a card anniversary year. Ideal for unlocking global redemptions, including premium cabin experiences.

    • Here’s an example of how the benefit could be used with the 100,000-point Global Companion Award:

A cardholder wants to redeem points for a pair of roundtrip tickets in Business Class between Seattle and Tokyo Narita. The award costs as little as 120,000 points per passenger. The primary traveler would redeem 120,000 points for their flight. By using their Global Companion Award, the companion ticket redemption would be covered for only 20,000 points. Applicable taxes and fees must be paid with the Summit card.

3x points on eligible dining and foreign purchases

Earn three points for every dollar spent on the card on eligible dining purchases and eligible purchases when traveling around the globe. Also earn 3x points on eligible Alaska and Hawaiian purchases. Eligible Bank of America account holders earn a 10% rewards bonus on all card purchases, amplifying their rewards earning – that’s 3.3 points per dollar spent on purchases across these categories, more than any other airline card on the market.

Waived partner award booking fees

When using points to book with our partners, save up to $25 per person on every roundtrip flight. Partner-imposed surcharges and government taxes and fees apply.

Travel Better

Alaska Lounge passes

Enjoy a relaxing start to your trip with eight passes each year to any of the Alaska Lounges – a value of over $500. Each pass is valid for your entire travel day, so you can access multiple lounges along your journey and includes entry for up to two accompanying children. For existing Alaska Lounge members, these passes can be shared with family and friends. Plus, through 2026, cardholders visiting the Alaska Lounge receive access to an all-new premium bar experience when they show their Summit Card – including elevated wines, signature cocktails and exclusive curations, just for cardholders.

Every $2 spent on purchases = 1 status point and get 10,000 status points every year beginning on your first card anniversary

The more cardholders use their card, the more status points they earn – with no limit on status points earned with the Summit card. Additionally, cardholders receive 10,000 status points annually beginning with the first anniversary of becoming a cardholder. With the anniversary bonus, the Atmos Rewards Summit card offers the fastest path to status of any airline card, with 20,000 status points earning Atmos Silver (and oneworld Ruby) and 40,000 status points earning Atmos Gold (and oneworld Sapphire).

Instant travel delay credit

An industry first, if a cardholder experiences a same-day Alaska Airlines flight delay of more than two hours, for any reason, or a flight cancellation within 24 hours of scheduled departure, they will automatically receive an instant $50 voucher, valid for 48 hours, linked to their Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card.

Free checked bag and preferred boarding

Cardholders and up to six additional guests on the same reservation can receive a free checked bag on Alaska and Hawaiian-operated flights, along with early group boarding on Alaska* when flights are purchased with the card. That’s up to $490 in waived baggage fees on a roundtrip itinerary.

Experience More

Waived same-day confirmed flight change fee

Giving cardholders the flexibility to change travel plans, saving up to $50 on each one-way flight.

Partner program points transfers

Cardholders receive exclusive access to transfer points to a robust slate of hotel partner programs, including many at a 1:1 exchange rate, unlocking even more redemption opportunities. With five hotel transfer partners at launch, covering over 25,000 hotels worldwide, the Summit card offers a unique lineup of redemption options in the air and on the ground.

Free points sharing

Cardholders can establish a sharing network with up to 10 other Atmos Rewards members — including friends, family, or other cardholders — to transfer redeemable points back and forth, with no transfer fees.

We’ve partnered with Alaska Airlines in launching the new Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite credit card at a time when consumers are increasingly prioritizing convenience, value and access to premium travel experiences. This co-branded card unlocks exclusive benefits and rewards for cardholders and allows travelers to earn more points while stretching their spending further.”

Lora Monfared

Head of Consumer Card Products at Bank of America

Learn more about everything the new card can do at AtmosRewards.com/SummitCard. The card has an annual fee of $395**.

For a limited time, new Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® cardholders receive 100,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of opening their account with this offer**. The bonus points alone could land you a business class ticket between Seattle and Tokyo, or up to three roundtrip flights between the West Coast and Hawai‘i in the main cabin.

Continued value with the Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® card

With Atmos Rewards, our popular, long-time credit card is also getting a rebrand. The Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® card transforms into the Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® card. Alaska Airlines selects Starlink, the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, to launch new era of connectivity

Summary

Alaska is poised to offer the best inflight connectivity service from Seattle, delivering ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi on more departures from the carrier’s largest hub than any other carrier.

Building on Hawaiian Airlines’ lead as an early innovator of fast, free Wi-Fi, Alaska will start offering Starlink in 2026 and bring the technology to its entire fleet by 2027.

Starlink’s unrivaled gate-to-gate speed and responsiveness across multiple devices allows guests to stream, scroll, game and stay connected just like they would on the ground, no matter where they fly.

Alaska Airlines is set to launch a transformational upgrade to the inflight experience: the fastest, most reliable Wi-Fi in the sky on every flight, everywhere we fly. Starting in 2026, Alaska guests will enjoy Starlink Wi-Fi with ultra-fast speeds and dramatically lower latency – unlocking seamless access to live gaming, real-time messaging and high-quality streaming across multiple devices, far beyond what most carriers can deliver.

This isn’t just an upgrade – it’s a reinvention.

Alaska is set to bring fast, responsive and reliable Wi-Fi to its fleet starting in 2026, with all aircraft – regional, narrowbody and widebody – connected by 2027, alongside our Hawaiian Airlines Starlink-equipped aircraft.

Alaska will provide the most flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport offering unrivaled end-to-end Starlink Wi-Fi and become the first U.S. airline to operate Starlink-equipped long-haul flights from the city. Following Hawaiian Airlines’ groundbreaking launch last year as the first major airline to offer Starlink, Alaska and Hawaiian are redefining the future of inflight connectivity.

“With Starlink already live on Hawaiian Airlines and installations starting this winter across Alaska’s fleet, we’re proud that we’ll offer the fastest, most reliable inflight internet in the skies – with gate-to-gate connectivity on nearly every aircraft across both airlines.”

Ben Minicucci

Chief Executive Officer and President of Alaska Air Group

You’ll enjoy the same fast, uninterrupted connectivity you rely on at home – stream, game, message and collaborate in real time. Plus, it’s free to our most loyal guests, thanks to an exclusive partnership we just announced today.

This innovative enhancement is part of Alaska’s multi-layer vision to deliver a truly elevated travel experience for every guest at every fare. From unifying loyalty into a single, seamless industry-leading program, to launching a premium credit card with unmatched travel perks, and now, bringing home-quality internet to the skies globally, even on full flights and in remote areas.

We’re thrilled to provide reliable high-speed internet on Alaska Airlines’ flights. From gate to gate, Alaska’s passengers will now experience the world’s best inflight connectivity.”

Chad Gibbs

Vice President of Starlink Operations at SpaceX

Alaska’s Starlink Wi-Fi: Fast, free, everywhere we fly

Real-time, ultra-fast speeds

Starlink’s low-latency, high-bandwidth performance is built for real-time applications like workplace messaging platforms, collaborative documents, video streaming, gaming and multi-device use. It offers an inflight internet experience that’s faster and more capable than what most travelers are used to. With latency less than 99 ms and speeds up to 500 Mbps, guests can expect an experience that’s at least 7x faster than the geostationary satellite-based Wi-Fi systems that most airlines use today.

Global coverage

With more than 8,000 satellites in orbit, Starlink provides uninterrupted connectivity for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines’ guests, keeping them connected from the moment they step onboard their aircraft and throughout their travels, even in remote areas. In 2026, Alaska will be the first U.S. airline operating long-haul flights from Seattle offering consistent, uninterrupted Wi-Fi service – a key pain point for many international travelers today who lose coverage or experience decreased speeds as their flights take northerly routes to Asia and Europe.

Leader in innovation

As the only airline with a hub in Seattle to offer Starlink Wi-Fi, Alaska continues to lead the industry in innovation. In addition to bringing the fastest inflight internet to the skies starting in 2026 with completion by 2027, Alaska has recently introduced the TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID Program, offers an industry-first food and beverage pre-order system through its mobile app, and a self-serve check-in experience that starts before guests even reach the airport.

Sustainability in the skies

Starlink’s electronically steered antennas feature no moving parts and have a much smaller footprint atop our aircraft than competing systems – reducing both weight and drag that impact fuel economy. This new technology, featuring the lightest equipment in the industry, will help us further reduce carbon emissions by conserving over 800,000 gallons of fuel per year, advancing our position as the most fuel-efficient premium U.S. carrier.

Together, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air are paving the way for the next generation of aviators through mentorship, innovative training programs and a shared commitment to excellence.

Every Aug. 19, we celebrate National Aviation Day — a sky-high tribute of those who first dared to dream of flight and the generations who’ve followed in their footsteps. But to us, aviation isn’t just about flying; it’s about our people.

Representation in aerospace careers is rarely a solo journey — it’s often built on the support of mentors, role models and communities that ignite growth, confidence and a sense of belonging. That spirit was front and center at the 49th annual Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) Conference, held earlier this month in Tacoma, Wash., where breaking barriers and creating meaningful opportunities for to connect and thrive in aviation took center stage.

Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air proudly served as title sponsors of this year’s conference — a first for our combined company.

“Being OBAP’s title sponsor has long been a dream of ours. Having Hawaiian, Alaska and Horizon show up together in Tacoma was a meaningful opportunity to help remove obstacles to participation and inspire prospective aviators to consider starting an enriching and inclusive career with our combined company.”

Deja Hubbard

Director of Talent Acquisition Outreach, Alaska Airlines

Throughout the conference, our employees eagerly answered questions, exchanged stories, offered career guidance and connected with the more than 2,400 attendees. Our title sponsorship also supports OBAP’s year-round efforts to expand access to professional development through programs like the Luke Weathers Flight Academy, Aerospace Career Education (ACE) Academy events and Aerospace Professionals in Schools.

Beyond OBAP, we continue investing in the next generation of aviators across our network. For example:

Our True North program recruits from schools including HBCUs Delaware State University and University of Maryland Eastern Shore, helping students build the skills and confidence to fly commercially, with financial support along the way.

We have over 450 students in Pilot Development who are training across the United States at a variety of schools.

In Hawaiʻi, we’re opening doors for aspiring pilots to train locally through a first-of-its-kind program that offers a path to join Horizon Air while easing the financial burden of flight training.

Feeling inspired this National Aviation Day?

Meet a few of our pilots whose journeys reflect the power of mentorship and representation. Their stories remind us that aviation’s true magic isn’t just in the skies — it’s in the people who lift others up and help them take flight.

Airbus A321neo captain at Hawaiian Airlines

Tell us your pilot launch story.

“My mum bought me a book about all the airplanes flying at the time. I remember reading it cover to cover, memorizing the different aircraft types, and telling her all their stats and specifications. From that moment, I knew I wanted to be a pilot and set my sights firmly on achieving that goal.”

How crucial is it for pilots to support the next generation of pilots?

“It is crucial that we support the next generation, just as my predecessors did for me. For me, I feel a responsibility to be an ambassador and role model to the next generation of African Americans, especially as this is a career many may feel is unattainable. I believe it is imperative to reach out in any way I can — to speak with them, encourage them and show them that becoming a pilot is possible.”

Kasey

Embraer 175 Captain at Horizon Air

Tell us your pilot launch story.

“I became a pilot simply because I fell in love with flying! Growing up, I had always daydreamed about flying a plane, but I never even considered being a pilot as an actual path that I could choose. No one in my family had any aviation background or experience, so I didn’t know what I didn’t know. After college and while working at a corporate desk job, my office moved just down the road from the local airport, and I thought, ‘Why not take lessons just for the fun of it?’ That 30-minute intro flight shifted my whole world, and I KNEW that I had to become a pilot. Along with the encouragement of my instructor at the time and the support of my family, I saved up for flight school, quit my job, moved to a new state to learn how to fly and never looked back!”

What is your favorite part about being a pilot?

“My favorite part of flying is witnessing the miracle of flight up close and personal every day. There is so much science, engineering and analysis that continually goes into modern aviation, and it is incredibly awe-inspiring and humbling to be a part of that each time I go to work. And it’d be remiss of me if I didn’t admit that the view from the flight deck is unbeatable!”

Boeing 737 first officer at Alaska Airlines

Tell us your pilot launch story.

“One of my aviation mentors […] literally had five airplanes and let me fly them for free. And I asked him, ‘How can I pay you back? What can I do?’ And he was like, ‘Well, you’re going to be in a position where you can pay it forward one day, so do that.’”

What’s your hope for the future of aviation?

“Being a woman of color, it was interesting because I felt like, prior to coming to Alaska, I was looked at as like ‘Oh, you’re here taking our space,’ and it felt like every time I stepped into the flight deck, I needed to work extra hard to prove that I deserved to be there. The future that I’m hopeful for is that people will see someone who looks like me and won’t have to do a double-take.”

Benn

Embraer 175 first officer at Horizon Air

Tell us your pilot launch story.

“I became a pilot to travel the world! I caught the aviation bug ‘late’ in life. I flew on my first-ever flight at 18 in flight school and knew deep down this is what I wanted to do. However, I did not think of it as a career until I was 22. I joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school, and when I was exiting active duty, I found what I wanted to do instead of staying in the military.”

What’s a piece of advice someone gave you during your aviation career that you wish you had received at the start of your career?

“I wish somebody had told me to keep flying! Do not take a break! I took a break because I was figuring out a way to pay for Part 61 flight school while my GI Bill was paying for my first Part 141 school. If you do take a break, stay involved in aviation one way or another, whether that’s working a job in aviation or volunteering.”

Alaska Airlines continues international expansion with new flights to London and Reykjavik from Seattle, with a first look at our new global experience

Summary

Our daily nonstop to London Heathrow will connect business and leisure travelers to the largest intercontinental market from Seattle, our growing global gateway

For the first time, we’re showcasing the striking new exterior design of Alaska-branded 787-9 long-haul aircraft, inspired by our heritage as we connect to the world

On the horizon, a new onboard global experience for the 787-9s based in Seattle and Hawaiian Airlines-branded Airbus 330 widebody aircraft based in Honolulu

Alaska Airlines is accelerating our future as a premium global carrier – growing bigger, flying farther and delivering the elevated experience our guests already know and love. As we continue our expansion journey, we’re charting a bold new course across the Atlantic with the launch of two new nonstop routes to London Heathrow and Reykjavik, Iceland,* from our growing global gateway in Seattle starting next spring. We’re also debuting Alaska’s striking global exterior design that will be featured on our growing fleet of up to 17 widebody 787 Dreamliner aircraft – part of a new global experience carrying the Alaska name.

“With these bold moves, we are accelerating our vision to connect our guests to the world. We are seizing this moment to redefine the international experience and level up. And we’re doing it with the same relentless focus on safety, care and performance that’s always defined us. I’m so proud of how our people continue to step up and deliver as we push ahead on these initiatives, with even more to come.”

Flights to London and Reykjavik are scheduled to begin flying in Spring 2026. They mark the fourth and fifth of at least 12 intercontinental destinations we’ll serve from our hometown airport in Seattle by 2030. AS New Intl Route Map

Seattle-London

We’ll offer daily, year-round service to the British capital – one of the most sought-after international destinations and business markets – on our widebody 787-9 aircraft, featuring 34 enclosed suites with fully lie-flat seats in Business Class. The Seattle-London route is popular with both corporate and leisure travelers who are eager for premium onboard amenities and services. London is the largest intercontinental market from Seattle, with more than 400 passengers traveling between the two vibrant cities every day.

As a gateway to Europe, this daily flight will connect guests throughout the West Coast to London and other destinations served by Alaska’s extensive partner network.  Beyond those in the Pacific Northwest, this new service will also provide guests in the states of Alaska and Hawaiʻi with conveniently timed connectivity to a highly desired market.  The route offers an alternative to those seeking more flight times, greater premium seat capacity, and the ability to earn and redeem valuable miles on Alaska’s award-winning loyalty program.  Alaska’s expansion into the London market, facilitated by strengthened collaborations with American Airlines and British Airways, presents significant opportunities. These alliances are expected to deepen over time, offering even greater value and connectivity to consumers.

Seattle-Reykjavik

This route will fly daily during the summer season when the days are long and bright in Iceland. Alaska will fly the route with 737-8 MAX aircraft, designed for this type of long-range flying. Iceland remains a bucket-list destination for adventure lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, and Reykjavik will continue to serve our guests as a convenient gateway to the European continent.

A new look for a new Alaska global experience

As we expand to new markets in Asia and Europe from Seattle, we’re introducing the first phase of a new global experience for long-haul flying to our guests on the 787-9 aircraft – an evolution of the Alaska brand that reflects a bold vision for international growth and our commitment to connecting the Pacific Northwest to destinations around the world. It starts with the striking exterior design – the livery – where the Alaska name remains but with an all-new look and feel. The 787-9s with the new livery debut in January. By spring, all Dreamliners in our fleet are scheduled to showcase the new design.

Alaska Airlines 787 global livery rendering

“Our new 787 exterior embodies Alaska’s transition to a global airline with beauty, grace and a nod to our heritage. As we significantly expand to new destinations around the globe, we’re eager for more and more travelers to recognize our new livery as being Alaska Airlines and appreciate the outstanding service we’ve long been known for.”

– Andrew Harrison

Alaska Airlines Chief Commercial Officer

The new 787-9 exterior design draws inspiration from the natural wonder of the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. This phenomenon captivates global audiences, and it’s an experience that’s well known across the state of Alaska.

A palette of deep midnight blues and lush emerald greens channels the aurora’s energy and spirit into our brand.

Flowing aura lines – seen in our current core livery and premium cabins – guide the design with light, motion and flow.

We also looked to our heritage, incorporating thoughtful details like an eye-catching horizontal stripe along the fuselage – a contemporary nod to our classic liveries of the 70s and 80s that bridges our past to our future.

The Alaska Native on Alaska narrowbody aircraft and Pualani on all Hawaiian Airlines’ aircraft flying to, from and within the Hawaiian Islands are not going away. They will remain unchanged as essential elements of our brands’ legacies and history.

Bringing the most state-of-the-art aircraft to the Pacific Northwest

To support Alaska’s transformation, we’re establishing a 787-9 hub in Seattle that will deploy as many as 17 787s across our global network. In addition to our existing 737 pilot base, we will open a new pilot base to support 787 operations beginning next spring. We currently have four Dreamliners in the fleet.

The 787-9 has long-range capability, superior fuel efficiency, next-generation technology and award-winning suites in Business Class that offer a spacious, fully lie-flat seat, an 18” screen for enjoying entertainment and a privacy door with direct aisle access.

The long-haul Dreamliner experience will be available from the Pacific Northwest when service begins between Seattle and Seoul-Incheon on Sept. 12, and on the existing Seattle-Tokyo Narita route starting on Jan. 7, 2026. Flights to Rome are scheduled to begin next spring.

Enhancing the global experience on our Airbus widebody fleet

Our Airbus 330 widebody aircraft will remain dedicated to international long-haul and Continental U.S. flying to and from Hawaiʻi, operated by Hawaiian Airlines from our second-largest hub in Honolulu. To enhance the travel experience for our guests, we are making substantial investments to the onboard experience over the next few years, including all-new interiors with updated lie-flat seats, a new premium economy cabin and upgraded main cabin seats. New premium products and amenities will match the exceptional service provided by our flight attendants.

Hawaiian Airlines adjusts network to boost capacity in high-demand international, domestic Hawai‘i markets by suspending three underperforming routes

HONOLULU – Hawaiian Airlines will adjust its transpacific network beginning in November by increasing capacity on international and domestic markets with strong travel demand to and from Hawai‘i while suspending three underperforming routes. The airline announced it will suspend service between Honolulu and Incheon, South Korea (5x weekly), Fukuoka, Japan (3x weekly), and Boston (4x weekly) and redeploy aircraft to boost flights between Honolulu and Sydney, Australia, Papeete, Tahiti, Los Angeles and Seattle, and support operations across its Hawai‘i network.

“It’s always a difficult decision to suspend a route, especially in cities like Seoul, which we have enjoyed serving for over 14 years. However, despite our team’s best efforts, soft post-pandemic travel demand from Asia combined with various market challenges have persisted in Seoul, as well as in Fukuoka and Boston, both of which we entered in 2019,” said Hawaiian Airlines CEO Joe Sprague. “We remain committed to continuing to provide robust Hawaiian Airlines service between Asia and Hawai‘i through our nonstop Japan flights, and via one-stop connections to and from Incheon and beyond with our global partner airlines. These adjustments will ensure we are meeting strong demand for travel to Hawaiʻi – both internationally and domestically – while providing all our guests access to more destinations.”

As part of the network changes, Hawaiian is reinvesting capacity into other flying to and from Hawai‘i by:

  • Increasing Honolulu-Sydney service with daily flights – up from five weekly flights – from Dec. 18 through Jan. 31.
  • Offering two weekly Honolulu-Papeete flights – up from one weekly flight — starting in March.
  • Launching a fifth daily flight between Honolulu and Los Angeles in peak seasons, starting Nov. 21 to Dec. 1, and Dec. 19 to Jan. 6.
  • Adding a fourth Honolulu-Seattle daily flight from late November to mid-April.

Hawaiian Airlines guests can continue to fly between Hawai‘i and Incheon or Fukuoka via one-stop itineraries through Hawaiian’s other Japan destinations, including twice-daily Honolulu-Haneda and daily Osaka services, and partner carriers, including oneworld alliance members. Hawaiian Airlines will also launch nonstop flights five times a week between Seattle and Incheon on Sept. 12. Between Honolulu and Boston, guests can connect daily on Alaska Airlines’ flights via Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and San Diego.

Hawaiian will operate its last flights from Fukuoka and Boston to Honolulu on Nov. 19, and from Incheon to Honolulu on Nov. 21. Impacted guests will be offered options to be reaccommodated on other flights or receive a refund.

Since combining last September, Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines today offer over 200 daily flights in Hawai‘i – the most of any carrier – providing nonstop access between the islands and 22 domestic and international destinations and connections to 131 cities in North and Central America through Alaska’s network. Hawaiian operates some 140 daily flights between the islands, and approximately 31 weekly nonstop flights between Honolulu and Tokyo and Osaka in Japan; Sydney, Australia; Tahiti, American Samoa, and the Cook Islands, in addition to offering seasonal service to Auckland, New Zealand. Starting next spring, the combined company will launch nonstop service between Seattle and Rome, London and Iceland – with one-stop connections to and from Hawai‘i.

Gary

Pilot intern at Alaska Airlines

Senior at Delaware State University, majoring in aviation

“My favorite part of this internship is being able to jump seat across the country. It puts everything into perspective, and I get to see what I’m training for in the professional world,” Gary shared. “What has stuck with me at Alaska is the strong safety culture across the entire company.”

The life of a pilot intern is constantly changing. They practice flight scenarios in our flight simulators and gain real world experience jump seating around the country. The jump seat is an auxiliary seat in the cockpit that is available to airline staff, which the pilot interns are cleared to sit in to allow them to gain experience firsthand.

Finn

Airport operations and customer support team – safety intern at Alaska Airlines

Senior at Emory University, majoring in business administration

“Alaska Airlines is opening doors for me by giving me the opportunity to work here in an operational support role. It’s allowed me to explore different areas of the company,” Finn explained. “Before this internship, I thought I knew what I wanted to do in aviation. But this experience has opened my eyes to so many other different career paths I hadn’t considered before.”

As an intern in operations support, Finn helps uphold Alaska’s commitment to safety, including processing safety reports from airport operations and customer service to support their safety program.

Lucia

Financial planning and analysis intern at Horizon Air

Junior at the University of Washington, majoring in economics

“I chose Horizon Air because I believe data is the foundation for innovation, and I wanted to work somewhere that uses data to actively improve customer experiences,” Lucia said. “Working at Horizon Financial Planning and Analysis has allowed me to experience the broad impact of financial data.”

In her role, Lucia is learning how numbers tell a bigger story and shape Horizon’s operations. She assists in crunching the numbers by digging into financial patterns. She’s already turned them into ideas of how Horizon can make improvements on cost control and has provided divisions with the resources they need such as budget templates.

Maya

Communications intern at Alaska Airlines

Senior at the University of Oregon, majoring in public relations

As one of the summer interns, I’m especially proud to share these stories – because I get to live one too.

Every day looks a little different for me. From collaborating with the internal and external communications teams to traveling to different Alaska hubs to work with our employees on the frontline, my work is centered around engaging storytelling and promoting our brand image. In communications, being rooted in our strong shared values is important. I’m fortunate to see those values play out every day.

I chose Alaska for its culture — the focus on culture and belonging, commitment to safety and the clear opportunities for personal and professional growth. I’m especially grateful to the leaders who challenge me to think critically and encourage me to strengthen my communication skills. Their support has made this internship not only valuable, but truly transformative.

Jim Landers, Hawaiian Airlines senior vice president of technical operations, will assume the role of head of Hawai‘i operations.

A head of Hawai‘i guest operations position will soon be named and will join the Honolulu leadership team this fall when the single operating certificate is acquired.

Honolulu is the company’s second-largest hub after Seattle, with more than 6,500 Hawaiʻi-based employees who each day welcome onboard thousands of residents and visitors, and move cargo, between the Neighbor Islands and on domestic and international transpacific routes served by more than 180 daily flights – the biggest Hawai‘i network of any carrier. The Honolulu leadership team will support several thousand frontline employees in the islands while also managing ongoing integration work, including the rollout of a combined loyalty program launching this fall and the adoption of a single passenger service system next spring.
