If the skies are looking a little more cloudy than bright, then Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have just the ticket with Winter Escape Fares for travel now through February 16, 2005.

Fares from Seattle or Portland start as low as $39 each way to Spokane, $59 each way to Reno, Oakland or San Jose and $69 each way to Long Beach. Or, fly east for as low as $129 to New York/Newark, or $149 to Washington, D.C. Fares are each way and require round-trip purchase.

Additionally, you can save $10 on these, and other published fares, by booking your tickets online using your MyAlaskaAir account at alaskaair.com through February 16, 2005. Registering for a MyAlaskaAir account is easy and free. For details, just log on to alaskaair.com.

The following fare rules apply:

— Fares are not valid for travel November 23, 24, 27-29, December 18-23, 26-31 and January 2-3, 2005.

— A 7-day advance purchase and one night minimum stay are required. Fares are nonrefundable and available on select days of the week. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights.

— Sale fares do not include the following government imposed taxes and fees charged on a per person basis:

— Airport passenger facility charges of up to $18, depending on itinerary.

— Federal segment tax of $3.10 per segment, for take-off and landing.

— September 11th security fee of $2.50 per enplanement, or a maximum of $10.
