Alaska Airlines today announced its first-ever non-stop service between Anchorage and Las Vegas and the resumption of year-round non-stop service between Anchorage and Los Angeles.

The inaugural Anchorage-LasVegas flight will be on November 5 followed the next day by the resumption of non-stop service between Anchorage and Los Angeles. Each route will be serviced by 737-700 aircraft.

"Each of these flights reflects our commitment to continue improving service for our customers in Alaska," said John MacLeod, managing director of planning. "We’ve targeted peak travel days to ensure added convenience for customers at the times when they want to travel."

Alaska’s existing schedule offers 16 daily flights between Anchorage/Fairbanks and the Lower 48 and will continue unchanged, MacLeod said.

While Alaska has provided Anchorage-Los Angeles nonstop service on a seasonal basis, resumption of the ANC-LAX nonstop flight November 6 will be on a permanent year-round basis.

"This nonstop service to Los Angeles will offer several advantages for our customers flying on peak travel days," MacLeod observed, "including great connections to flights to Mexico: Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Manzanillo, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. And the flights will provide convenient connections with American Airlines and American Eagle partner flights at LAX."

Brad Walker, Alaska’s director of leisure marketing, hailed the new nonstop service as offering vacationers convenient new options. "We will be offering attractive vacation packages featuring an assortment of the finest hotels in Las Vegas and Mexico through Alaska Airlines Vacations. Our customers really appreciate the ease of nonstop service." Details of the new service:
