Alaska Airlines to Offer Free Checked Bag with Every Flight for Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® Cardholders*

SEATTLE, July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines today announced it is doing away with the standard fee for the first checked bag for Alaska Airlines Visa Signature consumer cardholders.

"Today we're thrilled to announce that our Visa Signature consumer cardholders and their friends and family traveling in the same reservation with them will enjoy one free checked bag with every flight – as a core benefit of our card program."

Alaska first launched a month-long free checked bag promotion for all Mileage Plan members in January. In February, Alaska extended the promotion to its Visa Signature consumer cardholders.

Alaska Airlines Visa Signature cardholders enjoy 25,000 bonus miles upon approval when they apply at alaskaair.com. They also earn one mile for every dollar spent on retail purchases and three miles for every dollar spent with Alaska Airlines. Visa Signature consumer cardholders also get a companion fare every year – buy one roundtrip ticket and take a friend along for the ride for as little as $121.**
