Alaska Airlines Says Aloha to Hawaii

Alaska Airlines today announced new service between the Aloha state and Seattle and Anchorage. The airline will offer year-round daily flights beginning Oct. 12 between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Honolulu, and nonstop between Seattle and Lihue on the island of Kauai starting Oct. 28. It will also launch seasonal service between Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and Honolulu starting Dec. 9. "Our customers will now be able to enjoy Alaska’s special brand of service when visiting the Aloha state," said Gregg Saretsky, Alaska Airlines’ executive vice president of flight and marketing. "Hawaii is the largest market out of Seattle and Anchorage that we didn’t already serve. These long-awaited routes, including the first nonstop service between Seattle and Kauai, expand the leisure travel options we can offer our customers and Mileage Plan members."

The new service will provide convenient connections to travelers in other cities served by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air throughout the Pacific Northwest and state of Alaska.

To inaugurate the new service, Alaska Airlines is offering introductory one-way fares of $109 for Seattle-Honolulu flights, $149 for Seattle-Lihue flights and $159 for Anchorage-Honolulu flights. Customers must purchase their tickets by June 2, 2007, and travel by Dec. 13, 2007, from Seattle or by Feb. 14, 2008, from Anchorage. Additional restrictions and blackout dates apply.

Seattle-Honolulu flights will depart at 8:40 a.m. Pacific time and arrive at 11:55 a.m. Hawaii time. Return flights will depart at 1:25 p.m. Hawaii time and arrive at 10:10 p.m. Pacific time.

Seattle-Lihue flights will depart at 4:20 p.m. Pacific time and arrive at 7:45 p.m. Hawaii time. Return flights will depart at 9:15 p.m. Hawaii time and arrive at 5:55 a.m. Pacific time.

Anchorage-Honolulu flights will depart at 3:20 p.m. Alaska time and arrive at 8:40 p.m. Hawaii time. Return flights will depart at 10:10 p.m. Hawaii time and arrive at 5:30 a.m. Alaska time.

The new flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin. All flights will offer Alaska’s Northern Bites meals-for-purchase service, which allows coach passengers to purchase a meal onboard for $5. Inflight service will also include Alaska Airlines’ digEplayer, a personal entertainment system offering a variety of movies, television shows, music and other features. Complimentary in first class, digEplayers are available for $10 in coach.

    itinerary), federal segment tax of $3.40 per segment (takeoff and
    landing) on itinerary, and a U.S. security fee of $2.50 per enplanement.

    Travel for introductory fares valid Monday through Thursday. Anchorage
    introductory fare only available on nonstop flights. Other airfare
    restrictions apply. Seats are limited and introductory fares may not be
    available on all flights or on all days. Blackout dates apply to travel
    to/from Hawaii Dec. 16, 2007, through Jan. 6, 2008. Tickets are
    nonrefundable, but can be changed for a $50 change fee and any
