SEATTLE, April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines is making it easier for travelers flying to and from Seattle to fly more with double frequent flier miles* on eight of its most popular routes to and from the Emerald City.

"We already offer more flights to more destinations from Seattle than any other airline," said Joe Sprague, the airline's vice president of marketing. "Now we're offering double miles to help our customers get to their next adventures faster."

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members who enroll in the program before their first qualifying flights will earn double miles on flights through Dec. 31, 2014, between Seattle and the following cities:

  • Anchorage, Alaska
  • Las Vegas
  • Los Angeles
  • Oakland, Calif.
  • San Diego
  • San Francisco
  • San Jose, Calif.
  • Vancouver, British Columbia

The carrier will also offer double miles** from June 1 to Sept. 1, 2014, on flights between Seattle and Fairbanks, Alaska, and Seattle and Juneau, Alaska.

Alaska Airlines operates 279 peak-day departures nonstop to 73 destinations from Seattle. It also operates more daily flights (170 during peak season) to more destinations (28) within the state of Alaska and from Alaska to the Lower 48 states and Hawaii than any other major carrier. Members of Club 49, a special program for Alaska residents, will automatically be enrolled in the double miles offer for flights between Seattle and Anchorage, Seattle and Fairbanks, and Seattle and Juneau. Club 49 members enjoy exclusive deals, including special perks like two free checked bags, last-minute travel discounts and exclusive emails featuring weekly fare sales. Residents can learn more at the Club 49 website www.alaskaair.com/Club 49 and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AlaskaAirClub49.

With the ability to earn and redeem miles on 14 airline partners to more than 700 destinations worldwide, double miles help customers achieve their next award trip even faster. Mileage Plan members enjoy generous availability on award redemptions, one-way travel awards, and no minimum spend requirement to reach elite status.

Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan also rewards customers with elite status faster than any other frequent flier program. Elite-level status is earned for as little as 20,000 miles a year for travel on Alaska Airlines only. Elite-level status begins at 25,000 miles for customers who wish to combine travel on multiple airlines.

Alaska Airlines MVP, MVP Gold and Gold 75K Mileage Plan elite-level members enjoy priority boarding, two free checked bags, complimentary upgrades on Alaska, as well as bonus miles on every flight with Alaska and other elite-qualifying partner airlines, among other benefits. Ticket change fees are also waived for MVP Gold- and Gold 75K-level members. To qualify for this offer, travelers must be members of Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan and register at www.alaskaair.com. Customers who have not yet joined Mileage Plan can enroll online at no cost.
