Alaska Airlines Names Yvonne Daverin Managing Director of Maintenance Planning and Material Control

Alaska Airlines has named Yvonne Daverin managing director of maintenance planning and material control. Daverin will manage inventory and distribution of Alaska’s maintenance materials. She also will direct schedule planning for aircraft heavy maintenance checks and vendor maintenance of aircraft components.

"Yvonne’s expertise in aircraft maintenance, engineering and quality assurance is another valuable asset to Alaska Airlines’ maintenance and engineering organization," said Fred Mohr, Alaska’s vice president of maintenance and engineering. "In addition to Yvonne’s technical expertise, she brings a distinct leadership style, which emphasizes collaboration and fits well with Alaska Airlines’ values."

With more than 20 years of aviation maintenance experience, Daverin most recently served as Virgin America’s director of maintenance operations. In addition, she has held a range of leadership positions at United Airlines, including general manager of component maintenance, general manager of United’s Oakland maintenance center, director of quality assurance, and manager of 737, 747 and 757/767 fleet engineering.

Daverin holds a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering and a master’s of business administration degree from Santa Clara University. She also holds an Airframe and Power Plant License from the Federal Aviation Administration.
