SEATTLE, Jan. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Sangita Woerner has joined Alaska Airlines as vice president of marketing, overseeing the company's strategic marketing, advertising and branding programs.

"Sangita's deep brand expertise makes her the perfect fit as we continue to enhance the Alaska brand our customers know and love," said Alaska Airlines CEO Brad Tilden.

In her new role, Woerner will be responsible for brand strategy and identity, advertising, media planning, initiatives targeted to specific customer segments and credit card marketing and loyalty programs.

Woerner has worked on brand strategy expression at well-known brands including Dove, Suave, Degree and Seattle's Best Coffee. She most recently served as vice president of global coffee brand management at Starbucks Coffee Company.

She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
