SEATTLE, Sept. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines has named 25-year Alaska Airlines employee Wayne Newton managing director of its Seattle station, overseeing the day-to-day operations at its largest hub. Newton replaces John Ladner, who moved into the role of managing director of fleet, standards and operational control on Sept. 1.

"With an average of 165 daily peak-season departures, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is the busiest airport in our network," said Jeff Butler, Alaska Airlines' vice president of airport operations and customer service. "Wayne's quarter-century tenure with Alaska and effective leadership style will be invaluable as our route network continues to grow."

Previously, Newton served as Alaska's managing director of systems operations control. He has also held positions including managing director of airport operations, covering all airports outside of Seattle, and director of station operations (Seattle).
