Alaska Airlines has named several new managing directors in conjunction with a company-wide realignment instituted in late-April.

Angela Ursino, who has held positions of increasing responsibility in employee training, development and organization effectiveness since joining Alaska in 2000, has been promoted to managing director of talent strategy and organizational development, with added responsibility for recruitment. Ursino previously worked at Microsoft, Goodwill Industries and Ernst Home and Nursery in Seattle.

Dean DuVall moves from Alaska’s IT Department to become managing director of procurement for Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Formerly Alaska’s managing director of IT customer service and infrastructure, DuVall has served in numerous positions within the IT Department during his two decades at the airline.

Arnie Stapnes succeeds DuVall as managing director of IT customer service and infrastructure. A 16-year veteran at Alaska, Stapnes has overseen many initiatives, including responsibility for IT field systems and development of IT project management processes and the airline’s virtual Project Management Office.

Herman Wacker has joined the airline as associate general counsel and managing director of labor and employment law. Wacker has practiced labor law in Seattle for more than 30 years, representing labor unions, employees and employers in hundreds of arbitrations, mediations, negotiations and lawsuits.

Alaska Airlines and sister carrier, Horizon Air, together serve 92 cities through an expansive network throughout Alaska, the Lower 48, Canada and Mexico. For reservations visit alaskaair.com. For more news and information, visit the Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Newsroom at alaskaair.com/newsroom.
