Alaska Airlines has named Greg Latimer managing director of brand and product marketing, a newly created position overseeing a wide range of marketing functions.

Latimer previously served as director of brand and product marketing, leading a team responsible for branding and advertising, as well as product marketing for inflight entertainment and aircraft cabin configurations. In his new expanded role, Latimer will also oversee the airline’s inflight catering and consumer research functions.

"Greg is a standout leader responsible for managing some of Alaska’s most successful promotional projects and strategic partnerships," said Gregg Saretsky, Alaska’s executive vice president of marketing and planning. Saretsky noted that Latimer recently led projects including the painting of the "Salmon-Thirty-Salmon" aircraft and two Disneyland-themed aircraft. "We are thrilled to have Greg in this expanded role and look forward to seeing the continued positive impact his leadership will have on the company."

The announcement of Latimer’s new role coincides with the streamlining of leadership roles in Alaska’s marketing division. The airline also recently named Steve Jarvis to the expanded role of vice president of sales and customer experience.

Joining Alaska in 1992 as a mileage plan representative, Latimer has held several marketing posts. He was named manager of advertising and promotions in 1996, director of advertising and promotions in 2001 and director of brand and product marketing in 2005.

Latimer earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies and Russian language from Trinity University in San Antonio and a master’s degree in Russian studies from the University of Washington.
