Sprague said Boise residents will benefit from easy access to two sun-filled destinations with the airline’s new San Diego service. In addition to San Diego itself, the daily flights are also timed for easy connections on Alaska Airlines’ flights to Los Cabos, Mexico.

To celebrate the new service, Alaska Airlines is offering introductory fares starting from $99* each way between San Diego and Boise and $69* each way between San Diego and Mammoth Lakes. Tickets must be purchased by July 4 and can be used for travel between San Diego and Boise from Nov.1 through Jan. 31, and for travel between San Diego and Mammoth Lakes from Jan. 7 through Jan. 31, 2014.

"San Diego has always been an important market for Mammoth," said Howard Pickett, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area’s chief marketing officer. "Our partnership with Alaska Airlines and the new route gives San Diego residents the ability to get to the ski slopes in a fraction of the time."

The new 90-minute flight to Mammoth Lakes is estimated to save residents more than 6 hours of driving. Horizon Air will operate the Mammoth Lakes flights for Alaska Airlines using a 76-seat Bombardier Q400. SkyWest Airlines will operate the new San DiegoBoise flights for Alaska using a 70-seat CRJ-700 regional jet.

Customers flying on flights operated by Horizon and SkyWest can enjoy free soft drinks and Starbucks coffee, A la Cart planeside baggage service, and complimentary Northwest wine and microbrews for passengers 21 years and older.

With these flights, Alaska Airlines will offer 25 peak-daily departures from San Diego with nonstop service to 12 domestic and two international destinations.
