SEATTLE, Feb. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines is launching new service between Portland, Ore., and Kalispell, Mont., this summer. The flights will operate seasonally between Portland and Kalispell from June 9 to Aug. 23, connecting Portland-area residents to the natural beauty of northwest Montana. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, water sports, horseback riding and more, all within an hour and a half from the Rose City.

To celebrate the new service, Alaska Airlines is offering introductory fares starting from $99* each way. Tickets must be purchased by Feb. 26 for travel from June 9 through Aug. 23, 2014. Kalispell is located in northwest Montana's Flathead Valley, which encompasses the gateway to Glacier National Park, Whitefish Mountain Resort and Flathead Lake — the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. Alaska Airlines also operates daily roundtrip flights between Kalispell and Seattle.

Alaska Airlines' regional partner, Horizon Air, will operate the new flights with the Bombardier Q400, a high-speed, twin-engine turboprop.
