SEATTLE, Jan. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Mark Bocchi has been promoted to managing director of sales and community marketing for Alaska Airlines. A veteran Alaska/Horizon Air employee for nearly three decades, Bocchi previously served as director of passenger and alliance sales for Alaska Airlines and led the carrier’s efforts to increase its community involvement in Portland, Ore.

In his new role, Bocchi will continue to lead the field sales team and employee engagement and community outreach efforts in Portland and Seattle. He also assumes responsibility for alliance sales activities, sales information systems and EasyBiz, the airline’s corporate online booking product.

"While continuing his leadership role in Portland, Mark will also lead an effort to refine and enhance the role of our field sales team. They will play an even greater role in local community marketing efforts, employee engagement and support for leisure marketing promotions, along with their ongoing efforts to secure and boost corporate account activity on Alaska and Horizon," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing.

Bocchi worked at Horizon Air for 17 years before joining Alaska. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of Oregon and currently serves as a board member for the Portland Business Association and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Oregon chapter.
