Alaska Airlines and sister regional carrier Horizon Air are offering Double Mileage Plan Miles for California travel.

Customers can receive Double Miles when traveling between any of the airlines’ 16 California destinations and anywhere else the two carriers fly throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Double Miles offer is available to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members who register online at alaskaair.com and complete their travel by April 4, 2007.

The airlines’ California destinations include Burbank, Eureka/Arcata, Fresno, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ontario, Orange County, Palm Springs, Redding, Reno, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose and Santa Barbara. Horizon also will begin service to Sonoma County/Santa Rosa March 20, 2007.

Members of the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan can earn and redeem mileage on more than a dozen airlines, including more major U.S. airlines than any other frequent-flier program. The program also offers opportunities to earn miles through an extensive network of partners, including Alaska Airlines Visa Cards, Mileage Plan Shopping, Mileage Plan Dining, Safeway and more than 30 hotel and car-rental partners worldwide.

The Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan is consistently honored at the Freddie Awards, among the most prestigious consumer-generated awards in the travel industry. The program has been selected "Program of the Year" for three of the past four years and, in 2006, received the "Best Elite Level Program" and "Best Member Communications" awards.

Double Miles are valid only on qualifying paid flights marketed and operated by Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air to or from any city served by Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air in California. A flight segment is defined as any single flight or series of consecutive flights that share the same flight number. Travel must begin on or after Feb. 13 and be completed by April 4, 2007. Flight miles must be credited to the customer’s Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account in order to earn the Double Mile bonus. Not valid for free or award travel. Double Miles based on actual or minimum flight miles. Bonus Miles do not count toward MVP or MVP Gold Status. Please allow four to six weeks for travel and Bonus Miles to be credited.
