Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have launched a major fare sale featuring one-way fares of less than $100 on more than 100 routes and double miles on many flights. "Spring Savings" fares are available at alaskaair.com and horizonair.com or by calling (800) ALASKAAIR.
One-way sale fares start at $47 between Portland, Ore., and Sacramento, Calif.; $59 between Seattle and Denver; $69 between San Francisco and Palm Springs, Calif.; $73 between Seattle and San Francisco; and $81 between Seattle and Los Angeles. One-way fares for Mexico travel start at $119 between Los Angeles and La Paz or Loreto.
Tickets must be purchased by April 8, 2008. Sale travel must be completed by June 25, 2008, on routes within the U.S. Lower 48 states or Mexico, or by June 12, 2008, on routes to or from Alaska. Customers who fly two Seattle-Los Angeles or Seattle-San Francisco roundtrip flights between March 15 and May 15, 2008, can earn double Mileage Plan miles when they fly those routes May 16 through Dec. 31. 2008. Alaska Airlines also is awarding double miles on intra-Alaska flights between Anchorage and Bethel, Cordova, Fairbanks and Kodiak for travel May 1 through Sept. 7, 2008. Tickets are not refundable and cannot be transferred. Tickets can be changed for a $50 fee when changes are made at alaskaair.com, $75 when changes are made through the airlines’ reservation call center or ticket counters, or $100 when originally booked through a travel agent and changes are made through the airlines’ reservation call center or ticket counters. Customers who make changes also are responsible for any applicable changes in fare. Tickets purchased at an Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air airport location or through a reservation call center cost $10 more per person than the advertised fare. Standby for earlier or later flights on the same day as originally scheduled is allowed with no additional charge. Open tickets and wait-listing are not permitted. All fares are quoted in U.S. dollars. Seats are limited for these special fares and may not be available on all flights or on all days. Tickets must be purchased by April 8, 2008. Travel within the U.S. Lower 48 states and Mexico must be completed by June 25, 2008. Travel to or from the state of Alaska must be completed by June 12, 2008. For flights within the United States, tickets must be purchased at least 14 days prior to outbound departure and within 24 hours of making a reservation. For travel to or from Mexico, there is no advance purchase requirement, but tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making a reservation. Taxes and fees are based on one-way travel and may be double if traveling round-trip. Passengers are responsible for the following taxes and fees, as applicable: Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 (amount depends on itinerary), Federal Segment Tax of $3.50 per segment (takeoff and landing) and U.S. Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement. Additionally to Mexico: U.S. Immigration User Fee of $7, U.S. Aphis Fee of $5, U.S. International Transportation Tax of $15.40, Mexico International Departure Tax of up to $32 (fluctuates with exchange rate), and Mexico Tourism Tax of up to $22 (fluctuates with exchange rate).
