SEATTLE, May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines is extending the hours that members can visit its Board Room airport lounges in Anchorage, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland, Ore.

The Anchorage Board Room will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., starting June 11, four to six hours longer per day than its current schedule. The Portland and San Francisco Board Rooms have extended their Saturday hours to 9 p.m., while the Seattle Board Room, which had been closing at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, is now open until 10:30 p.m. daily.

"We listened to our members who requested longer hours at our lounge in Anchorage and on the weekends at our other Board Rooms," said Caroline Boren, the airline’s managing director of loyalty marketing and customer advocacy. "These new hours will offer nighttime and weekend travelers even greater access to a place where they can relax and enjoy our personal service."

Customers who wish to become a member of Alaska Airlines Board Rooms can sign up on the airline’s website at www.alaskaair.com/boardroom. Those who join between now and June 30, 2011, earn 5,000 Mileage Plan bonus miles.

With locations in Anchorage, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as access to more than 50 affiliate lounges worldwide, Board Room membership offers fliers a sanctuary at the airport. Guests enjoy comfortable furnishings, business work stations with integrated power, free Wi-Fi, large-screen TVs, and complimentary juices, soda, coffee/espresso and varying snacks throughout the day, including fresh pancakes, soup and fresh vegetables. The Board Rooms also offer complimentary beer, wine and cocktails.

Day passes cost $45 while new one-year memberships are $295 to $450, depending on Mileage Plan elite-tier status. (First-time membership includes a $100 initiation fee, which is discounted for Mileage Plan MVPs and waived for Gold members.)

Anchorage: 5 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily, starting June 11. Currently closes at 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday and at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Los Angeles: 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Portland: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
San Francisco: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Friday; 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
Seattle: 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
