He passed away unexpectedly early this morning. “As the first Asian American mayor of San Francisco, Mayor Lee was a pioneer for diversity and inclusion, championing for civil rights for all throughout the Bay Area,” said Annabel Chang, Alaska Airlines vice president, Bay Area. “We are so honored to have had the opportunity to work closely with him over the years and will always remember his tireless dedication to public service, humility, intellect and compassion. Our thoughts are with his wife, Anita, and their daughters Brianna and Tania.” Mayor Lee (seen in the accompanying photo) joined Alaska Airlines and Virgin America at San Francisco International Airport on Dec. 14, 2016, to celebrate the merging of the two airlines.
