Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air today announced a 25-percent off fare sale to eight popular beach destinations in Mexico. The two-day fare sale is good only at alaskaair.com.

"Mexico beach resorts and world-class golf courses are ready to welcome travelers back to their beautiful coasts," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska’s vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience. "We’re hoping customers will take advantage of these low fares and our great schedules, and enjoy the charm of Mexico this summer and fall."

Tickets must be purchased by midnight Pacific time, June 16, 2009, and travel completed by Oct. 31, 2009.

Alaska Airlines introduced service to Mexico in 1988 and flies an average of 1 million passengers annually between the U.S. West Coast and Mexico. Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air provide service to eight Mexico beach destinations: Cancun, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, La Paz, Loreto, Los Cabos, Manzanillo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

Discount code rules: The discount is valid between all Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air U.S. or Canadian cities, excluding Hawaii, Mexico City, Mexico and Guadalajara, Mexico, Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Tickets must be purchased online at alaskaair.com by midnight June 16, 2009, and travel completed by Oct. 31, 2009. Fees are based on published fare routings. Some cities may not be available. One discount is allowed per reservation for up to seven people traveling together in the same reservation. The discount is not applicable to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan award reservations, Alaska Airlines Vacation packages, tour or contract fares. The discount is valid for new ticket purchases only at alaskaair.com. Itineraries with discount codes applied cannot be held with a discount. Some markets in Mexico do not operate daily. Not included in the fares: Airport Passenger Facility charges of up to $9 (amount depends on itinerary), Federal Segment Tax of $3.60 per segment (takeoff and landing) on the itinerary, U.S. Security Fee of $2.50 per segment, U.S. Immigration User Fee of $7, U.S. APHIS Fee of $5, U.S. International Transportation Tax of $16.10, Mexico International Departure Tax of up to $33, Mexico Tourism Tax of up to $24, and the Mexico Transportation Tax of 3.75 percent of the fare (prices may fluctuate with the dollar-peso exchange rate).
