Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air Offer Expanded Schedule From Portland to Las Vegas and California

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air today announced additional nonstop service from Portland, Ore., to Las Vegas and Oakland, Palm Springs and San Diego, Calif., beginning Jan. 28.

The flights expand the combined airlines’ schedule from the Rose City, including offering new, nonstop service to Palm Springs during late April through early June.

"We are pleased to offer Oregonians more choices to these popular West Coast destinations," said John MacLeod, Alaska’s managing director of planning and alliances. "Our partnership with Horizon Air gives us the unique ability to serve more markets with more frequency, giving our travelers conveniently timed flights."

Horizon Air will operate the flights through June 2, 2007, using Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft, which seat 70 passengers. The new flights include:

  -- Two more round-trip flights between Portland and Las Vegas, bringing
     the total number of daily flights to five.
  -- A sixth round-trip flight between Portland and Oakland, ensuring all
     popular times for travel are offered.
  -- A second daily Portland-Palm Springs flight, providing more flight
     choices to this popular seasonal destination.
  -- A fourth Portland-San Diego flight, enabling convenient, same-day,
     round-trip travel options.

The new Portland-San Diego and Portland-Las Vegas flights will be operated by Alaska Airlines after June 2, while the remaining new flights will discontinue after this date.
