Alaska Air Group, Inc. today reported November passenger traffic for its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines (Alaska) and Horizon Air (Horizon).

ALASKA AIRLINES

Alaska’s November traffic increased 7.6 percent to 1.506 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) from 1.400 billion flown a year earlier. Capacity during November was 1.963 billion available seat miles (ASMs), 4.5 percent higher than the 1.879 billion in November 2006.

The passenger load factor (the percentage of available seats occupied by fare-paying passengers) for the month was 76.7 percent, compared to 74.5 percent in November 2006. The airline carried 1,394,300 passengers, compared to 1,360,900 in November 2006.

RPMs for the 11-month period totaled 16.889 billion, a 3.3 percent increase from the 16.353 billion recorded a year earlier. Capacity for the 11 months ended November 2007 increased 3.9 percent to 22.149 billion ASMs, compared to 21.321 billion in 2006.

The passenger load factor for the first 11 months of 2007 was 76.3 percent, compared to 76.7 percent in 2006. The airline carried 16,123,400 passengers, compared to 15,752,100 in 2006.

HORIZON AIR

Horizon’s November traffic increased 10.5 percent to 238.0 million RPMs from 215.3 million flown a year earlier. Capacity for November was 324.0 million ASMs, 11.0 percent higher than the 291.9 million in November 2006.

The passenger load factor for the month was 73.5 percent, compared to 73.8 percent in November 2006. The airline carried 626,200 passengers, compared to 548,400 in November 2006.

RPMs for the 11-month period totaled 2.686 billion, an 8.5 percent increase from the 2.476 billion recorded a year earlier. Capacity for the 11 months ended November 2007 increased 9.7 percent to 3.657 billion ASMs, compared to 3.334 billion in 2006.

The passenger load factor for the first 11 months of 2007 was 73.4 percent, compared to 74.3 percent in 2006. The airline carried 6,915,300 passengers, compared to 6,306,300 in 2006.

For Horizon’s network flying (which excludes those flights operated as Frontier JetExpress), November traffic increased 31.0 percent to 220.8 million RPMs from 168.5 million flown a year earlier. Capacity for November was 302.2 million ASMs, 34.0 percent higher than the 225.5 million in November 2006.

The passenger load factor for the month was 73.1 percent, compared to 74.7 percent in November 2006. The airline carried 598,700 passengers, compared to 475,400 in November 2006.

RPMs for the 11-month period totaled 2.322 billion, a 21.1 percent increase from the 1.918 billion recorded a year earlier. Capacity for the 11 months ended November 2007 increased 22.2 percent to 3.148 billion ASMs, compared to 2.576 billion in 2006.

The passenger load factor for the first 11 months of 2007 was 73.8 percent, compared to 74.5 percent in 2006. The airline carried 6,307,200 passengers, compared to 5,433,400 in 2006.

Horizon’s RPMs, passenger load factor and passengers are reported using actual November operating data for flights operated as Horizon Air combined with estimated operating data for Horizon’s regional jet service operated as Frontier JetExpress.
