In celebration of more than 15 years of service in the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska Airlines is partnering with Hawaiʻi-based illustrator, Shar Tuiʻasoa of Punky Aloha Studio to design our second special-edition painted aircraft in honor of the Aloha State. The artwork for the new aircraft will reflect Hawaiʻi’s Pledge To Our Keiki and will be revealed later this year.

Recently we surprised 12 West Oakland Middle School students with a seven-day trip to Hawai’i in partnership with STATE Bags. For many of them, it was for their first time on a plane—and for all of them, it was their first time to the Islands. From harvesting kalo to zip-lining through lush forests and diving in to so many immersive experiences, the students learned powerful ways to malama Hawaii and the beauty of friendship, community and culture.

Last week, our 14th Fallen Hero Cart arrived at San Antonio International Airport after a journey of more than 2,000 miles from SeaTac, Washington. It was the largest Fallen Soldier Cart dedication we’ve ever had and the first time two military livery aircraft have been able to join the hand-off.
