Diana Birkett Rakow leads Air Group’s government affairs, corporate reputation and impact strategies, local market engagement and venture investment as a member of the company’s executive committee. She is responsible for sustainability, communications, community engagement, government affairs, Alaska and Hawai‘i sales and the airline’s investment arm, Alaska Star Ventures.

Diana joined Alaska after two decades in the health care industry and government. Prior to joining Alaska she was executive vice president of public affairs and marketing at health care insurance and delivery company Group Health, leading brand strategy and stakeholder engagement through the company’s acquisition by Kaiser Permanente and establishing a new $1.8B foundation. Prior to that, she was health policy advisor to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee.

Diana holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Harvard University and master’s degrees in public health and public administration from the University of Washington. She is a Board Director for Puget Sound Energy and Hawaiian Airlines and serves on international councils to advance sustainability and clean energy.
