Alaska Air Group to Hold Seattle Media Briefing Before Annual Stockholder
                                 Meeting

  WHEN:      Tuesday, May 20, 1 p.m. Pacific time

  WHAT:      Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines and
             Horizon Air, will hold a media briefing prior to its annual
             meeting of stockholders. The briefing will include opening
             remarks from Bill Ayer, Alaska Air Group's chairman and chief
             executive officer, and Jeff Pinneo, Horizon Air's chief
             executive officer, followed by a question-and-answer session
             with senior executives. After the briefing, members of the news
             media are invited to attend Alaska Air Group's stockholder
             meeting at 2 p.m. in the William M. Allen Theater. Cameras are
             welcome during the media briefing. To respect the proceedings,
             cameras will not be permitted in the stockholder meeting.
