Alaska Airlines Resumes Service Between Portland, Ore. and Long Beach, Calif.

SEATTLE, Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Alaska Airlines today announced it will resume daily nonstop service between Portland, Ore., and Long Beach, Calif., starting March 12, 2012. Alaska Airlines previously served Portland–Long Beach for about one year until April 2010.

"The addition of Portland–Long Beach gives our customers another conveniently timed alternative for traveling between the Pacific Northwest and Southern California," said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing. Sprague said the route augments the carrier’s thrice-daily Seattle–Long Beach service.

To introduce the service, Alaska Airlines is offering $69* one-way fares between Portland and Long Beach. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 19, and can be used for travel between March 12 and May 16, 2012. The flights will be operated for Alaska Airlines by SkyWest Airlines with a 70-seat Bombardier CRJ-700 regional jet.
