Larger, more-advanced passenger-cargo aircraft part of airline’s $100 million

  WHAT:   Alaska Airlines will hold a media briefing at Ted Stevens
          Anchorage International Airport to introduce the airline's first
          Boeing 737-400 "combi" aircraft. The two combis introduced to the
          fleet this week are part of the airline's $100 million plan to
          improve passenger and cargo service in the state of Alaska.
          Converted to transport passengers in the back and main-deck cargo
          in the front, the 737-400 aircraft have more cargo capacity,
          more-advanced flight-guidance capabilities and more-comfortable
          passenger cabins than the 737-200 combis they replace.

  WHO:    Bill MacKay, Alaska Airlines' senior vice president, Alaska, will
          be available for media interviews.

  WHERE:  Alaska Airlines Maintenance Hangar, Ted Stevens Anchorage
          International Airport, 4100 Old International Airport Road,
          Anchorage, Alaska, 99502. Take International Airport Road West
          toward Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Turn left on
          Jewel Lake Road and take an immediate right onto Old International
          Airport Road. Proceed just more than one-half mile. Park in
          designated media spaces in the cargo parking lot.  Check in at the
          gate with posted media signs.
