Alaska Airlines Inaugurates Service to Hawaii

Customers on first flight greeted in Honolulu by Alaska, Hawaiian dancers

  WHEN:      Friday, Oct. 12, 11:45 a.m. Hawaii time

  WHERE:     Alaska Airlines check-in lobby (#4), Honolulu International
             Airport

  WHAT:      Alaska Airlines will celebrate its new service to Hawaii with
             performances by Alaska native dancers and Hawaiian dancers at
             Honolulu International Airport. Beginning Friday, Alaska
             Airlines will operate daily flights between Seattle-Tacoma
             International Airport and Honolulu. The airline also will offer
             nonstop service between Seattle and Lihue beginning Oct. 28,
             and between Anchorage, Alaska, and Honolulu starting Dec. 9.

  TIMELINE:  11:45 a.m.  Festivities begin at Alaska Airlines check-in lobby
                         (#4), Alaska native dancers perform as customers
                         check in for first departing flight
             12:03 p.m.  Alaska Airlines' first arriving Hawaii flight,
                         Flight 851, arrives from Seattle (no media access
                         at gate)
             12:15 p.m.  Passengers arrive at baggage claim D, greeted by
                         Hawaiian dancers
             12:25 p.m.  Alaska Airlines representative and customers
                         available for interviews in front of Alaska
                         Airlines ticket counter
             1:33 p.m.   Alaska Airlines Flight 852 departs for Seattle
