Million-mile frequent flier to destruct traditional ticket counter with
                               sledgehammer

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 16, 8:45 a.m. Pacific time

WHERE: In front of Alaska Airlines' ticket counter, Seattle-Tacoma
             International Airport

WHAT: Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air will open the first phase of
their $18 million Airport of the Future check-in facility at
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The patented design,
which replaces traditional ticket counters with islands of
check-in and bag-check areas, reduces passenger wait times. The
facility will be open to Alaska Airlines customers Tuesday and
to Horizon Air customers in early 2008. To mark the occasion,
an Alaska Airlines million-mile frequent flier will
ceremonially destruct a traditional ticket counter using a
sledgehammer, before becoming among the first customers to
check in for a flight using the new facility. Alaska Airlines
introduced the Airport of the Future design in 2004 at Ted
Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska. The project
cut in half the average check-in time there.
