Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have launched a Winter Clearance Sale with low fares to many of the carriers’ destinations on the West Coast, Alaska, the East Coast, Canada and Mexico. Tickets require a 14-day advance purchase and are valid for travel through June 10, 2009.

"Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have more flights to more destinations on the West Coast than any other airline," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience. "We invite our customers to take advantage of these low fares and our great schedules to plan a late-winter or spring getaway."

Fare rules: Seats are limited and subject to availability. Blackout dates for these fares for the state of Alaska only are: March 4-9, 2009, and March 13-17, 2009. Travel must be completed between Jan. 23, 2009, and June 10, 2009. Tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making a reservation and at least 14 days prior to departure. Seats may not be available on all flights or all days. Tickets purchased at Horizon Air or Alaska Airlines airport locations or through one of the airline’s reservation call centers will cost $15 more per person than the advertised fare. Passengers may check one bag for free. A second bag may be checked for $25. A $100 fee will be assessed for each additional checked bag. Additional fees apply to checked overweight and/or oversized items. These fares may be purchased at alaskaair.com or horizonair.com provided the itinerary is no more than eight segments long (a ground segment constitutes one leg of an itinerary). These fares are non- refundable and are only available on Alaska Airlines and/or Horizon Air. Changes made through an Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air reservation call center or airport ticket counter incur a $100 (USD) per person change fee plus applicable fees and any difference in fare. Changes made at alaskaair.com incur a $75 (USD) per person change fee plus applicable fees and any difference in fare. The traveler is responsible for the following taxes and fees, as applicable: Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9 (amount depends on itinerary), Federal Segment Tax of $3.60 per segment (takeoff and landing), U.S. Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement.
