Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air have launched a major sale featuring low fares throughout the carriers’ networks for travel through February 2010. One-way fares start as low as $29 for flights between West Coast destinations and $109 for Mexico flights.
"Now is the time to plan your fall or winter escape," said Steve Jarvis, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing, sales and customer experience. "This system-wide sale offers some of our lowest fares to the sunny Hawaiian Islands and Mexico, and includes our newest markets — Atlanta, Houston and Austin, Texas."
Tickets must be purchased by Sept. 10, 2009, for travel from Sept. 14 through Dec. 16, 2009, for Hawaii and Mexico, and by Feb. 10, 2010, for all other cities. Tickets require a 14-day advance purchase, except for travel to Hawaii and Mexico. Day-of-week restrictions apply, except for travel to Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico.

Fare rules: Tickets must be purchased by Sept. 10, for travel between Sept. 14 and Dec. 16, 2009, for Hawaii and Mexico, and by Feb. 10, 2010, for all other cities. Blackout dates for travel from the continental United States to Mexico and Hawaii are: Nov. 20-22, 2009, and Dec. 16, 2009. Blackout dates for travel from Mexico and Hawaii to the United States are: Nov. 28-30, 2009. Blackout dates for travel between Canada and the United States, except for Hawaii are: Dec. 18-21, Dec. 23, Dec. 26-28 and Jan. 2-4, 2010. Blackout dates for travel within the United States are: Nov. 20-21, Nov. 25, Nov. 28-30, Dec. 18-21, Dec. 23, Dec. 26-28, 2009, and Jan. 2-4, 2010. Travel is permitted Monday through Thursday and Saturday only, except for travel to and from Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico, which is valid daily. Other important information: Travel between the following cities must be nonstop: Austin, Texas, and San Jose, Calif.; Boston and Portland, Ore.; Anchorage, Alaska, and Portland; and Anchorage and Chicago. Tickets purchased at an Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air airport location or through an Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air reservation call center will cost $15 more per person than the advertised fare. Tickets are nonrefundable but can be changed. Changes made at alaskaair.com incur a $75 per person change fee and any difference in fare. Ticket changes made through an Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air reservation call center or airport ticket counter incur a $100 (USD) per person change fee or a $125 (USD) per person change fee if originally booked through a travel agent and changed through an Alaska Airlines or Horizon Air reservation call center or ticket counter, and any difference in fare. Tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making a reservation. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or all days.
