             Seattle

WHAT: Alaska Airlines and The Boeing Company will unveil "Starliner
             75," a new next-generation 737-800 featuring a 1940s' paint
scheme, to celebrate the airline's 75th anniversary. The
aircraft will be revealed at the Boeing Flight Test Center
hangar and boarded by some of the airline's most-senior
employees for a ceremonial flight over Puget Sound. The
"Starliner" livery design was originally introduced in 1945 on
Douglas DC-3 aircraft and was the first to officially represent
the airline after its name changed from Alaska Star Airlines to
Alaska Airlines in 1944. Alaska Airlines was founded as McGee
Airways in 1932 with a three-seat Stinson aircraft flying out
of Anchorage, Alaska. Today, Alaska Airlines is among the
world's oldest airlines and the United States' ninth-largest
             carrier.
