Jason Berry, a 30-year industry veteran, is Chief Operating Officer of Alaska Airlines, overseeing the day-to-day operations both on the ground and in the air. With a focus on safety, continual improvement, and execution, he is committed to working with nearly 28,000 employees at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines to deliver results that build upon the company’s strong track record of safety, operational performance, and a remarkable guest experience.
Most recently, Jason served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Air and Executive Vice President of Cargo for Alaska Air Group from 2023 to 2025. In these roles, he was responsible for engaging the nearly 3,500 employees of Horizon and collaborating with them to deliver exceptional regional air service on behalf of Alaska Airlines.
Jason joined Horizon in early 2023 as Senior Vice President of Operations, where he oversaw key aspects of the airline’s operations, including employees in the regional carrier’s four largest work groups. Before that, he worked at Cargolux Airlines International S.A. and also led Alaska Air Cargo.
In 2019, Jason served as President of Alaska Airlines’ wholly owned subsidiary, McGee Air Services, where he had oversight for all aspects of aviation services — including ground handling, aircraft grooming, aircraft mobility services, as well as check-in and gate operations.
Coming from an aviation family, Jason began his career on the ramp while still in high school. His decades of hands-on experience and deep industry knowledge continue to guide his leadership as Chief Operating Officer, where he remains dedicated to advancing Alaska Airlines’ legacy of operational excellence and outstanding guest service.
Jason graduated from Central Washington University and earned an Executive MBA at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. He lives near Tacoma with his wife and three children.
