I travel constantly. In fact, in the past three weeks I’ve only been home for one full day.
This isn’t a bad thing – I love traveling. It ignites my passion for adventure each and every time I set foot in a new place or rediscover somewhere I’ve been before.
From the moment you step off a plane, a new world of discovery and experiences is yours for the taking.
Because I travel so often for work, I’m typically not in any one city or location for very long, but I want to make sure that I make my time count and experience as much as I can.
As a Weekend Wanderer for Alaska Airlines I was challenged with just that task. Experience the city of Denver within the span of a weekend.
I’ve been home all of one day and I’m already heading out on some new travels tomorrow! I’m really stoked to be flying to Denver tomorrow with @alaskaair as a #WeekendWanderer !! I’ll be taking over their account so be sure to head over and follow along while I explore the mile high city.
On this trip I had the pleasure of bringing along one of my favorite travel companions, my mom! Out of all of my influences in my life, I’m pretty sure my mom inspired my sense of adventure. While I was growing up, she constantly shared her stories of traveling to Europe and all of the many adventures she had in her youth.

We flew in over the towering Rocky Mountains and landed in the Mile-High City ready to conquer this new place. Over the course of the weekend we drove through roads lined with fall-colored forests, stood on windswept mountains 12,000 feet above the ground, ate an abundance of food throughout the city, walked through the bustling city center, and experienced the culture of Denver.
From the mile high city to 12,000 feet in the Rockies.So some of you know that I’m in Denver… but you might not know that my mom came too. @alaskaair asked me to be their #weekendwanderer but they also wanted my mom along to explore with me! Love having her included as I’m pretty sure I get my thirst for adventure from her. Today’s taken us to 12,000 feet at the top of the Rocky Mountains and down in valleys full of aspens in their vibrant fall colors. And it’s only been the first day!Today’s adventures have taken my mom and I all over the city of Denver! Started the day off with a solid cup of coffee at @amethystcoffeeco which then led to spending hours wandering through the @denverartmuseum & @denverbotanic.My feet are sore. My stomach is full. And my camera might just be a bit tired. Really enjoying the diversity that Colorado has to offer! Tomorrow we’re heading to the Garden of the Gods and then jumping on a flight back home.We woke up before the sun this morning and drove just an hour south of Denver to see the sunrise over the Garden of the Gods.Totally awestruck by the magnificence of these rock formations jutting up out of the ground while being asked in the early morning sun.Spent our last day in Denver by soaring up to 14,000 feet at Pikes Peak on the @pikes_peak_railway . Just one of the many towering mountains to be found throughout Colorado!It’s been a nonstop weekend in Denver and I loved every minute of it! From the fall colors in the Rockies, to the bustling streets of downtown Denver, and up to the top of Pikes Peak… so many experiences that made my trip with my mom out to Colorado so great! My advice to fellow travelers? Always step out of your comfort zone and try something new. You won’t regret it.
