UPDATE 1/22/19: We’re postponing our scheduled start of service from Paine Field until March 4, 2019. Our latest post has all the details.
ORIGINAL POST 11/15/18: If you live north of Seattle and throughout Snohomish County, we’re ready to make your day with some news you’ve probably been waiting to hear: We’re now selling tickets for 18 daily nonstop flights between Paine Field in Everett, Washington, and eight West Coast cities.
Say hello to Alaska flights at a more convenient, brand new airport terminal, and goodbye to a potentially much farther drive south to Sea-Tac Airport.
The first day of scheduled service is Feb. 11, 2019, subject to government approval. The all-jet service from Paine Field will be provided by Horizon Air flying the Embraer 175 aircraft featuring first class and premium class cabins.
We’re also excited to offer more options to our guests. We recently acquired five additional gate times at Paine Field, which would allow us to offer up to 18 daily nonstop departures in early 2019 upon receipt of required government approvals. This would mean more frequencies to several of the previously announced destinations: Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Orange County, California; Phoenix; Portland, Oregon; San Diego; San Francisco; and San Jose, California.
“We’re tremendously honored to be a part of this historic moment with the opening of a brand new commercial airport,” said Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines’ chief commercial officer. “Providing all new service from Paine Field and further expanding where we fly our guests, including from our Global Partners’ major international hubs, highlights the strong growth in our region and a thriving West Coast.”
To celebrate the start of ticket sales, we’re offering a two-day sale on fares to and from Paine Field, starting at low as $39 one-way*. And for all nonstop flights flown to and from Paine Field through March 31, 2019, Mileage Plan members will earn double miles after they register for a special promotion**.
After the initial start of service on Feb. 11, the planned daily flight frequencies will increase over the course of several weeks to ensure new operations are running smoothly. Here’s how that looks on our flight schedule:

I emphatically join the chorus: Please add Palm Springs! You’d immediately get our business.
I would love it if it were to Spokane or Boise. Both places are small airports and once a week would be nice. There would be a lot of money there as so many of the planes from Spokane have issues landing at SeaTac as they don’t have a gate.
We agree, Spokane and Boise would be great!
I would recommend Spokane as well, as Historic Flight Foundation of Paine Field also has a second campus in Spokane.
I fly to Spokane too
Would greatly appreciate
Please fly Santa Barbara to Everett!!!
Would love it if you added Denver.
We are so greatdul for this new offering, thank you Alaska! If you ever expand destinations, we’d love to see Walla Walla, Spokane and Redmond (Bend) added to Paine.
Considering IT companies between San Francisco and Seattle, too less flights and odd timings for it. Early morning and evening flights are good for regular travelers and business executives.
This is gonna be a historical moment for me!!! I just booked my flight to LAX, on the first one to ever fly to LAX from PAE. Many years later I’ll be telling my grand kids: “you know the first flight to LAX to fly out of PAE in February of 2018? I was on that flight.” Very excited I’ll be part of that small history. I envy those who are gonna fly first to LAS on the 11th, but couldn’t justify the $500. Besides no real need to fly there. But Los Angeles…? That’s a good start for my vacation. And it was cheap.
Denver would be great
Please! Please! add Long Beach CA as well. You’re awesome AK Airlines!
MORE BOISE PLEASE !
Please add Palm Springs as a destination. We fly there 3 to 4 times a year! Thanks
We are very excited about flying out of Paine Field!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! I’m totally elated to not have to go to SEA TAC! This means I can go see my grandchildren in San Diego more often and they can come to Grandma’s more often. You made my day Alaska!!!
Please consider adding Salt Lake.
Please tie in Anchorage to Pane Field . Many people tie to northern Washington and Vancouver Canada
Yes, Anchorage to Everett is something we Sewardites would love to use!
could you provide help for parking accommodations/availability pls, thanks
Definitely Palm Springs..
Why, why, why can’t there be even just one flight a day to Anchorage on Alaska Airline ??
Originally Hawaii was on the table which is only thing I would use out of Paine field. Very sad to still have to waste so much time to use SeaTac. What about Idaho or other NW destinations?
Would love if you included non-stop to Palm Springs Int’l to your schedule.
This is excellent! I can’t wait to fly out of PAE. I fly regularly to LAS, and frequently to LAX or SNA. I used to live a mile from PAE and would watch progress on the terminal — it looks great!
Please add Spokane to the list, it would be so much more convenient.
Yes please. Spokane needs more flights to Seattle. PAE would be awesome.
Yes, please do this!
Yes!!!!!!!!
We are so excited to fly in/out of Everett. Would love for you to add Boise Idaho to your destinations – lots of Boise State University students from this area.
We’d love to see Boise as well for different reasons. Reno too.
Thank you Alaska Airlines. Please add Palm Springs.
Yes please add Palm Springs or Ontario!!
how about Medford, Or.
Please add flights to Spokane!
Where do we park? Any covered parking for the winter months??
I will book Phoenix soon, would be great to go out of Evt.
There is parking at the terminal and there will be nearby lots. They’re uncovered surface lots. Propeller Airports will manage parking at Paine Field, with more information coming out soon as we get closer to the first days of flying.
Transit info too when you get it. Hopefully Sound Transit will work out a route there.
It would be great to see Boise as a destination
Sounds interesting but I need dates further out, I already have plans set for all of Feb.
I would LOVE it if you were to fly directly to Pittsburgh, PA. Please consider it. I do fly there out of SEA but Paine is so close to where I live.
PAE should be a commuter’s airport. If you really want to reward your loyal 75K+ customers who commute every week, you need to add way more flights to SJC and SFO and think about (you have the data) when people are traveling for work. Use your data and see who is flying EVERY WEEK and when. Who gives a fig about the $39 flights or vacation destinations?? That is so stupid. Those recreational fliers have time to drive to the airport and search for cheap fares. We need this for work and to cut out the always annoying LONG drive time from the north sound to SEA. Make it happen AlaskaAir.
I really hope you start flights to & from Spokane. Please Please Please!
Looking forward to the new service. It would be great to have a Paine Field to Spokane that would connections into Montana and even further east.
I hope you have direct flights to Kona by April 2019.
All flights from Everett will be on our Embraer 175 jets. Hawaii is outside that aircraft’s range.
Please add Bozeman!
Finally!!!!! Please add Spokane to your routes.
Clearly a lot of people would love AS to add LOTS of destinations out of PAE, but — just as clearly — PAE is not as big as SEA; the number of gates/slot times are limited, and will never be as much as AS has at SEA; for now, at least, only E175s operated by Horizon will fly in-and-out of PAE; and there is no way for PAE to become a true hub for AS.
Personally, I’m glad of the option to fly into PAE, but I have no doubt that the majority of my flights to Washington State will remain on AS to SEA. Not being a resident of the Greater Seattle area, I look at PAE the same way I look at GEG, and other small(er) airports: they FEED to a hub. In other words, if you want to fly from (e.g.) GEG to JFK, in all likelihood, you’re going to fly GEG–>SEA–>JFK; you want to fly out of PAE, it’s going to be EITHER (e.g.) PAE–>SFO–>JFK, OR a drive down to SEA for a nonstop flight. Still, this is a great option.
Not to be critical but clearly you are from out of the Greater Seattle area and with respect appear to have not looked closely at a map of the area or have much awareness of aviation. PAE is perhaps 35 miles north of Seatac (20 from Boeing field
).

I have a home in Friday Harbor a city on an Island 50 miles north of PAE. I have a hanger where I store a car s and own nearby condo for my work in greater Seattle. I generally fly my small plane into PAE and then drive but due to weather as often I take the ferry to Anacortes and then drive to get to great Seattle. Either way if I presently want to fly out of the Seattle area I have to go through terrible Seattle down town traffic a drive from PEA of at least an hour (1.5+ at rush hour) and the same back. The risk of jams occasions most to take rooms at Seatac the night before to be sure to make their early AM flight
Everett offers the option of (now) western state travel that totally avoids that for not just the many who live North of Everett but south as far as down town Seattle and much of the North East side as well. In that sense it could rival Oakland, San Jose, Long Beach, John Wayne and other so called California “satellites”.

In that sense it could rival Oakland, San Jose, Long Beach, John Wayne and other so called California “satellites”.
Additionally it has a 9000+ runway that can accommodate any size jet (Boeing’s plant there churns them out and repairs there as well). Yes big jets going directly east will probably have to go to Seatac for a long time but with a 9000 foot runway they wouldn’t have to! And with a commercially active PAE it should also be possible to get a commuter flight into PAE from other cities Bellingham, Mount Vernon, Friday Harbor (anywhere really) and between PAE and Seatac at a modest price (still cheaper than a drive plus hotel when time is considered).
This proposition has been obvious ever since the Air force pulled out of PAE and Boeing moved its plant there in the 60 and did so much to upgrade and maintain the field. The nearby property owner foresaw this and selfishly obtained all number of concessions from the authorities to prevent PAE’s use by commercial aviation because they didn’t want the NOISE. My condo south of PAE is right on final approach to PAE and 4-5 Boeing jets fly over daily and its barely noticeable. It took years for the authorities to over come those obstacles and it appears they finally have.
All of North Western Washington (Spokane) too will benefit if PAE “takes off”. We need to all get behind it and use these flight when ever we can (even if it costs a modest amount more. It will be cheap in the long run. All these reasons and more support giving support to PAE and Alaska for making this effort.

I love the idea, since I live in Everett.
How about Burbank?
Does this offer apply to companion fares as well?
Don’t waste your companions on these flights.
Are these loaded for your app? I’m not finding any flights even with the mentioned dates.
Please list all $39 flights.
I get SO tired of wandering down a rat-hole trying to see the actual offer mentioned in an ad.
This might help: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/cities/flights-from/paine-field-everett
I’m with you,Joel!! Show me the money!!!!!
How about Pullman/Moscow?
YEAH for that! What a convenient location to avoid the Seattle traffic SLOG!
Parking facilities? Are there any? if so, how much will it cost
Yes, tell us about daily/weekly parking rates. That will influence my decision to use PAE.
I’m also very interested in the answer to this…
Please add Palm Springs!!
Palm Springs! Palm Springs!
Pleases!
PAE—->GEG —->PAE would be awsome!
Please add Palm Springs!
Please add a flight to Palm Springs
It would be wonderful if you added Bellingham flying non-stop to Puerto Vallarta or some of the other cities in Mexico along the Pacific side. You would be amazed at how many Canadians would use your service if they could fly out of Bellingham, WA.
It would undercut the flights out of Vancouver.
I appreciate this option, and always love to fly Alaska. BLI is my first choice as an airport, but if Paine Field adds a direct-to-Reno flight, I’m there.
