Ohhh, the possibilities at Paine Field! Tickets now on sale for 18 daily departures to 8 cities

UPDATE 1/22/19: We’re postponing our scheduled start of service from Paine Field until March 4, 2019. Our latest post has all the details.

ORIGINAL POST 11/15/18: If you live north of Seattle and throughout Snohomish County, we’re ready to make your day with some news you’ve probably been waiting to hear: We’re now selling tickets for 18 daily nonstop flights between Paine Field in Everett, Washington, and eight West Coast cities.

Say hello to Alaska flights at a more convenient, brand new airport terminal, and goodbye to a potentially much farther drive south to Sea-Tac Airport.

The first day of scheduled service is Feb. 11, 2019, subject to government approval. The all-jet service from Paine Field will be provided by Horizon Air flying the Embraer 175 aircraft featuring first class and premium class cabins.

We’re also excited to offer more options to our guests. We recently acquired five additional gate times at Paine Field, which would allow us to offer up to 18 daily nonstop departures in early 2019 upon receipt of required government approvals. This would mean more frequencies to several of the previously announced destinations: Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Orange County, California; Phoenix; Portland, Oregon; San Diego; San Francisco; and San Jose, California.

“We’re tremendously honored to be a part of this historic moment with the opening of a brand new commercial airport,” said Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines’ chief commercial officer. “Providing all new service from Paine Field and further expanding where we fly our guests, including from our Global Partners’ major international hubs, highlights the strong growth in our region and a thriving West Coast.”

To celebrate the start of ticket sales, we’re offering a two-day sale on fares to and from Paine Field, starting at low as $39 one-way*. And for all nonstop flights flown to and from Paine Field through March 31, 2019, Mileage Plan members will earn double miles after they register for a special promotion**.

After the initial start of service on Feb. 11, the planned daily flight frequencies will increase over the course of several weeks to ensure new operations are running smoothly. Here’s how that looks on our flight schedule:

Comments

  1. Has the FAA approval been received. Looking to book a flight but everything I have read says FAA approval pending.

    1. Hi Paula. FAA approval has not yet been received for Paine Field, and we’re unfortunately delaying our start of service as a result. Check out today’s blog post for the latest: https://news.alaskaair.com/alaska-airlines/paine-field-delayed-service/

  2. When you have good round trip options this will work great. I can’t come in on Feb. 12 and leave 1 week later from San Jose ca. the only other option is staying for a month and that’s not an option.

    1. Hi Julie. Not sure i’m following you. Starting Feb. 12, there will be two round trips a day between Paine Field and San Jose. I’m showing no problems in booking on alaskaair.com.

  3. Really! Hardly any real round trip options? What is the point! Please work on getting daily city pair round trips.

  4. when will you be able to fly into Orange County Ca airport ?

  5. how about paine field to honolulu for your Northern neighbours seeking sunny skies. (or bellingham-HNL works too!)

    1. I think you can connect from Portland, SFO, or LAX. You’ll want a larger plane for the flight to Hawaii anyway.

  6. Any flights from Paine Field to SeaTac? For connecting flights? I would be great to avoid the traffic to SeaTac!

    1. Not at this time. Thanks for the input, James!

  7. Palm Springs California please please please

  8. How about Palm Springs?

  9. Any chance on making Laughlin / Bullhead City Airport a destination?

    1. Yes, that would be awesome!!

    2. Laughlin/Bullhead City would he awesome!

  10. Missoula, MT please! We fly every 2 months, and they’re always packed flights. Happy to see this expansion, regardless.

    1. Request

      KPAE–> KBIL –> KPAE

      or MT circuit more frequently

  11. Hope future plans would include increase flights out of Bellingham to CA and the East Coast. This would capture the Canadian market plus Whatcom and Skagit Counties. There is NO competition coming out of Bellingham airport for you!

  12. Love the Idea of RMD also. Would fly that one monthly.

  13. Please add san antonio/ austin

  14. Please add service to/from Denver!!

  15. Please add a daily flight to Raleigh-Durham!

  16. Would like to fly to Pheonix, to visit the Grand Canyon, and Flagstaff. How would we get back to Paine Field with no other return dates offered?

    1. Not sure I’m following you. Starting Feb. 18, we’ll offer daily nonstop service between PAE and Phoenix. Departs PAE at noon; departs PHX at 4:55 p.m. as indicated in the Flight Schedule above.

      1. Thank you. That’s awesome. We will definitely take advantage of that.
It was not clear (at least to me) that it will be daily, starting on that date.

  17. How about adding another sunny place to your destinations. Palm Springs would be a great addition since so many snowbirds from WA come down here.

  18. Sounds great. And what’s the car rental situation planned?

  19. How about a flight to San Luis Obispo. It’s in the flight path between San Francisco and LA.

  20. We live in Everett and travel to Palm Springs each month so obviously we’d like to see direct flights to Palm Springs. I can’t help but think that a non stop flight to Palm Springs would be extremely proplar for those living in Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom and Island Counties.

  21. Looking like it’ll be a good ‘feeder’ airport for nearby connections through Portland. Love it.

  22. Boise!!!

  23. GREAT news to get to our vacation home on Whidbey Island. Only way to make it better is to fly in/out of Palm Springs … it could be called the “Snow Bird Shuttle”.

  24. Would you consider going to Spokane and Tucson Arizona?

  25. Too loud for what its worth. I don’t think I would take this jet knowing that everyone around hates me for doing so. Could not possibly take my luggage anyway. Put a muffler on it Alaska. Its not a war bird.

  26. Need flights to Monterey, CA

  27. Palm Springs and Yuma would be awesome additions.

  28. I’m looking forward to the possibilities. I’d love to see some ski destinations for weekend escapes. Maybe Friday early AM returning Sunday PM for a 3-day ski trip to Utah, Montana, BC, …

  29. Please think about adding a flight to Charleston. You have a captive audiance in Everett.

  30. can’t seem to find any $39 flights

  31. I already have problems now, with the few flights over my house, and am very angry that my peace and tranquility will be greatly interrupted …. more and more ! The people who invested in homes and property here are being trampled in total disregard for the GREED of BIG BUSINESS !! I am not happy about this, and I fly Alaska Air all the time.

    D. Smith

  32. I moved to Marysville, WA from Sunnyvale, CA and fly to San Jose a lot. I will use the Alaska service out of Everett all the time rather then driving to SEA TAC.

  33. Thanks!

  34. Any fights proposed for Anchorage?

    1. Not at this time.

  35. Please add a flight to Salt Lake City!

  36. what type of shuttle service will be available to the Paine Field from Belllinghama, WA?

    1. That’s still being worked out.

  37. Looking forward to this, for sure!! Hopefully you will add Anchorage. 🙂

  38. We are thrilled about this new service! We would love to see Palm Springs added – we take tons of flights there.

  39. Great news! Will additional flights be added to your 2/11 – 3/11 schedule, or will all new flights be added after 2/11? Will I be included in the announcements as an Alaska Air member? Id like to be able to plan ahead.

    1. The Flight Schedule above is current.

  40. Would like to see Santa Rosa as an option.

    1. I to would like Santa Rosa on the departure and arrival list

  41. Are you going to have travel to Walla Walla anytime soon?

    1. ^I second this question! Any Walla Walla flights coming?

  42. Too bad there are not flights to RDM so I could take advantage of those non-stops.

    1. Agree, My mom lives in Redmond!

  43. This is great news but FYI. Google employees (Seattle campus is closer to Everett than Sea Tac) fly between SFO and SEA on Mondays and return home Fridays. You have not directs between SFO and PAE on Mondays and Fridays.

    1. All flights to Paine Field are nonstops. Our first commercial flight is planned for Feb. 11. Over the course of a month, we’ll ramp up to our full schedule. Flights between PAE and SFO start Feb. 14 — and it’ll be daily service. (Flight Schedule above)

      1. Will long term parking be offered? Rates?

  44. What an exciting time for everyone that flies Alaska Airlines on the west coast !

  45. I too am interested in availability and cost of parking. I live south of SeaTac and it the flight and parking costs would have to be low to make it worth much while to drive to Everett.

  46. Any info on parking lots and cost?

    1. Good question! That’s still being finalized by the airport. Information should be coming out soon.

  47. I just moved from the Everett area to southeast Idaho, but still have family there. It would be so nice if one day you had flights to the Idaho Falls area. That Seattle is a living nightmare! Boise would be better than nothing.

  48. Great now add real work destinations like 3 times a day to SPOKANE!!!!!!!

  49. How about 4 flights a day to Seattle, then we could fly anywhere! 🙂 Rather than the inconsistent drive down I-5 or 405 and delays in accidents and then parking and TSA! I would rather wait an hour for my flight at SeaTac than add an hour ‘just in case’ for the traffic. Need very early morning as the first option to be on time for the 5:30-7:30 flights leaving Seattle. Thanks for adding this service, we are all excited to replace driving with the use of our local field.

    1. It looks like there are plenty of opportunities to connect via PDX and SFO. I’d rather connect in Portland than Seattle any day!

  50. This is very exciting news! So happy that Portland is on the list, and would love to see Missoula and Boise added as well. Thanks Alaska Air. You have been my go to airlines for over 20 years, and have always provided me excellent service.

    1. I agree, we’d love to see Missoula on this list as well!
